Types Of Relationships

The Two Types of Relationships

For teenagers dating can be like a game, but with one thing that is always in common. No one ever wins. There is always someone with the broken heard. One of the main reasons why there is so much confusion on the subject is all the different answers, between online communities and what your parents are telling you and what your friends are doing. To break it down, there are only two types of relationships; the two are affection based and convenience based. Each have there benefits and each have there disabilities. It just depends on what you are looking for in the relationship at the time. Each relationship type has it own set of rules, methods , tricks to follow, But by knowing which one you are looking for will give you the upper hand in knowing the rules to play by.

Affection Based Relationships

If you are wanted a affection based relationship, then you are usually wanting that special someone to be around. You could call him/her your soul mate. If you want to spend the rest of your life with this person. Then that fits the definition of an affection based relationship. This stuff isn't rocket science, just common sense. Although I must warn you that this type of love is rare and hard to find, what most people think is an affection based relationship fades over a period of time.

Convenience Based Relationships

This is the most common type of relationship on the planet today. Most people get together, for any reason at all. But it's mostly because they couldn't find anyone better. If you are looking for someone to fulfill a need at the present time. Long term relationships are not even on the table. There types of relationships the people are looking for some type of compatible or common interests.

Overview of the Two Types of Relationships

Affection Based

  • Feeling a deep connection with your partner, but is build over time.
  • Willingness to wait. The best catches are the ones that are hardest to find.
  • Holding yourself to a higher standard. Always improving your self.

Convenience Based

  • Looking for common interest. Meeting people at your favorite place to go.
  • Approach as many people until you find someone
  • Look attractive, talk a lot and to as many people as possible.

abnormal sexual relationship?
I am a 27 year old male (law student). always was a good student, decent honest person, very timid, quiet, and my best friend is a 40 year old male. ever since I was a young I had feelings toward men, and I define myself as being a gay male. except, all my crushes have been on straight guys. however, i have never been interested in having sex with a man or (woman since obviously I stated I was gay), but also because i have crushes and feelings toward straight men only. I feel I am sexually gratified because after I have been around a straight masculine type guy and we hang out then afterwards when I am home, I think of the person and masturbate, but yet I never have been interested in sex with another person. Like I said my best friend is a straight 40 year old married man, that is great looking, and I hang out with him and when I am alone I think of him and gratify myself. Even though he is straight and masculine he is a caring man and always pats other guys on the back and always touches me (in a friendly way, not that he likes me) and he doesnt seem to suspect I have these feelings toward him. Since he is my best friend should I tell him OR is it healthy to keep it to yourself and not let on I have these feelings? Is this relationship healthy where you are attracted to straight guys, and never act on these feelings but pleasure yourself? Sorry for the too much information, but I was just curious how you would define this type of relationship?

What's the right medical professional to talk about relationship denial?
It was horrible for both of us to admit that we had a romantic relationship. We both had feelings for each other, but we would make excuses and try to see each other in a different light. There was one very good moment for him when he said: love me in a different way. But, then I said: look at how many ways I love you. It slipped out. I didn't want to tell him that I loved him. He had the same problem later on. We both felt shame, but only because of norms and convictions. It's been a problem in being happy; we were happy when we talked to each other. The type of relationship was not an issue, but we had romantic feelings for each other and forced ourselves to love each other like friends. My problem now is that when I look around I think it's him and it's someone else, but I stare a lot and just yesterday the person looked so much like him. I don't think I have prosopagnosia.
