How should I approach asking my sig. other to read a relationship self-help book?
My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years and clearly don't know what the hell we are doing in our relationship, both of us are from broken homes, neither of us seeing a direct example of a healthy relationship, and so whenever we ave issues or problems that arise, neither of us can communicate with each other, well, not without the silent treatment or yelling, and so of course nothing ever gets solved. We love each other very much but could use some help before we end up killing each other (lol there's no physical abuse, its just a joke) Anyway, someone borrowed me a copy of "women are from mars, men are from venus" and i flipped through it and could see how it could help us greatly, IF we both activly persue it. I want to read this book with him, so we can both identify problems and learn how to relate to one another better, but i don't know how to ask him, i'm afriad he'll think i am critisising him or whatever, so can anyone please help me figure out a way to ask him,thx I know some might say if the relationship is that bad we should split up, and i agree if things stay the way they are, but i can't help feeling like it deserves a fair shot with this book to make things better, and if it doesn't work then maybe the relationship should end, but i really want to try with this or any other suggestions you may have before "throwing in the towel" so to speak LMAO, i just realized i got that backwards, men are from mars, women are from venus lol

Isn't the real message of relationship self-help books that the man has to manage communication with his wife
Men are more simple and transparent, women are more complex and less transparent. Sure, sometimes men do dumb stuff and are a little more selfish. But even the most thoughtful, unselfish man will still probably have to tolerate ludicrous accusations from his wife that he wouldn't put on her, on occasion. It's assumed that the woman is thoughtful and maintaining her end of the relationship, because that comes so much more naturally to women than men. Has anyone else noticed this (probably unintended, but unavoidable) message in relationship self-help books?

Can't remember the name of the book from MSN.com. HELP?
i know i am not giving too much info. but it's worth a try i read an article on MSN.com not too long ago (like 1 or 2 months). It was in the relationship section and it referenced a book from what i rememeber was like a relationship self help kinda book. The name was something like "when he doesn't get it" . to be honest i really dont remember but the cover had like a man and woman on it and i remember reading the description on amazon about the book being on the 2 sides to a relationship and explaining why each sex acts the way they do. i believe it was also suppose to be some what comical (maybe a tiny) well, if someone MIGHT know, please help and if not does anyone recommend a good self help relationship book. has to be something that is an easy read, even comical maybe or mini stories as i am someone with a short readin span. thanks!
