Why do people still separate women and men so much?
There is still a tremendous amount of stereotyping men and women that is just accepted. People still say things such as "Real men do this..." or "I speak on behalf of all women when I say...". Like when you read relationship advice columns it's all based so much on stereotypes. Why is this so common still even from some so called feminists?
As far as me playing the victim I actually detest people who play the victim. I don't want to be automatically given negative things because I am a woman but nor do I want the positive things just because I am a woman. The same goes for men if you perhaps bothered to read the previous paragraph. I want to be judged for who I am good and bad not by the fact that I'm XX.

Are there any men who actually, honestly -like- taking charge?
So, this question isn't really about a specific situation or advice or anything, but just a broader kind of question in general.
I've read tons of relationship advice columns, articles, etc etc. Many of them have input from men, and I've noticed that there is a huge frequency of guys saying that they like it/find it attractive when a woman takes charge, makes the first move, etc. I always find myself a little alarmed at this. I always wait for the guy to make the first move --- not because I can't or don't want to do it myself, but because I want him to at least prove he has the cojones to go after what he wants --- which makes sense, right? I don't want to date a wimpy girly man who always waits for the woman to do everything. I like it when a guy takes charge, in and out of the bedroom. So it kind of disturbs me when I'm constantly reminded that the men themselves want me in control when I don't want to be.
So my question to you guys is, do you like being in charge? And if you don't, why?
